Teaching

I love teaching.  I was seven years old when I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  I graded my stuffed animals' papers and and taught "lessons" from my chalkboard.  My 2nd Grade teacher gave me one of her fancy pens.  It was red and looked like a real ink pen.  I can name every single teacher that positively impacted my heart and mind.

As you may know yourself, life does not always move in a straight line.  I have surely taken some lengthy detours!

I studied Early Childhood Education at Pasadena City College, where I earned an AA and an AS degree.  While studying at P.C.C., I became a christian.  I studied the bible and applied what I learned to my life.  All of that is how GOD brought me closer to my purpose.

I worked at Cal Tech's Children's Center in their infant room.  I learned more in that room than I did in many of my classes, like respecting babies and their space.   Then I became a nanny for a recently divorced Mom of three (3) babies - ages 5, 3 and 8 months old, in exchange for room and board.

I switched majors before transferring to California State University Los Angeles, where I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies.  While going to school I worked for my Dad at his Private Investigation company.  It was an amazing time.  Just as I secured a great long-term substitute position in a small school district, we learned my Dad had cancer. It happened to be a rare cancer on his kidney.  To our dismay, my Dad did not survive his surgery.  I ended up taking over the company with my Mom.  We stayed in business ten years after my Dad died.  It was strenuous and not in alignment with my purpose.  In that time is when I learned Reiki (2014) after being exposed to Energy Healing over a course of 2 or 3 years.

I no longer practice Christianity in a traditional sense, yet the principles and lessons I learned on my path are deeply embedded in my heart.  As a Reiki Master Teacher, an elementary school Teacher, Nanny, Childcare/Preschool Teacher, and someone who actively has survived herself, I am now able to bring all those experiences together to share with you!
